It's been an interesting year for Fun 107's Food for Tots campaign with the Friends of Jack Foundation.

We started out the season with Food for Docs, a program that fed frontline healthcare workers right at the beginning of the pandemic and lockdowns. Food for Docs morphed back to Takeout for Tots when restaurants were allowed to open for takeout service. Then, we finally finished up the Food for Tots season with a return to a relatively normal "masked up" version of the very important fundraiser for the Friends of Jack Foundation.

There's no way around it; while we have been able to continue our support of the Friends of Jack Foundation, our fundraising efforts, like so many other things this year, are significantly off.

So the idea of having one final Food for Tots spinoff event sounded like a ghoulishly great idea to us, especially on Halloween.

This Saturday, Dockside in South Dartmouth will have a special opening from 2-4 p.m. Little ghosts and goblins will be invited to Dockside and given a "Make Your Own Ice Cream" kit including ice cream, sprinkles and other fixings – everything you'd need to make your own ice cream at home. The ice cream will have Halloween-themed names. The Friends of Jack Foundation will also be handing out pre-packaged candy bags.

The foundation is asking for a donation of any size, large or small, that will be used towards the health and wellness of SouthCoast children. You can find out more about the Friends of Jack Foundation by clicking the blue button below.
