Westerly’s neighborhood of Watch Hill is the perfect escape for any celebrity. It’s beautiful, private and usually drama-free.

Until this week, when human remains were found in the Watch Hill neighborhood.

Human Remains Found in Westerly, Rhode Island

According to the Westerly Police, officers were called to Everett Avenue on Wednesday morning. Upon arrival, the officers found what appeared to be a human leg bone.

The remains were collected and transferred to the Rhode Island Medical Examiner’s Office for further analysis.

WJAR spoke with Taylor Day, a Westerly resident who happened to be driving by the scene when investigators arrived. The resident was alarmed to hear what was found.

“It was probably a couple football fields away from Taylor Swift’s house and the Ocean House,” she said.

Day also voiced her concern about the growing theory surrounding a potential New England serial killer and how the entire discovery has her on edge.

Why Is There a Serial Killer Theory Growing in New England?

Back in March, a Facebook discussion group called New England S.K. was growing in popularity. The members of the group noticed that bodies were turning up in places like Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts and created a narrative that a serial killer may be hard at work in Southern New England.

Local police have continued to say that the latest discoveries show no indication of being connected, but residents aren’t too convinced.

Why Is Taylor Swift Involved with Human Remains Found in Rhode Island?

At this time, there are two factual points. Number one: a supposed human leg bone was found in Watch Hill. Number two: Taylor Swift’s Rhode Island home is close to the eerie discovery.

It's always jarring to hear "human remains" have been found in a quiet neighborhood, but little is known at this time.
