So many brides and grooms planned on celebrating their wedding day surrounded by friends and family members this spring and early summer. Sadly, due to COVID-19, they’ve had to alter their arrangements to protect their loved ones from the novel coronavirus. It’s the right thing to do, but it’s hard putting their big milestone celebration on hold.

YMCA SOUTHCOAST wants to help these couples say, “I do” by offering the opportunity to book their Mattapoisett location as a ceremony-only option to celebrate their love. Shining Tides has limited availability to host ceremonies at this gorgeous space on the waterfront and it’s a dream setting for anyone planning a beachside wedding. The best part? All the fees will go to support the N.O.W. Program.

Kate Levin is the Membership and Marketing Director at YMCA SOUTHCOAST. She mentioned that the idea came about through a great need to support a worthy cause. “What really spurred us to move forward was that the Y's Nutrition On Weekends (N.O.W.) program is struggling to meet the increased need for food for local families to help them get through the weekend when takeaway lunches are not provided by the school system.,” said Levin. “In thinking of how best to raise funds to expand the N.O.W. program, we started receiving inquiries about an outdoor, ceremony-only option for intimate weddings. What better way to start your life together than supporting families struggling with food insecurity?”

As long as you and your betrothed can adhere to the COVID-19 guidelines, including gathering size and social distancing, Shining Tides could be the perfect spot for you to start the rest of your lives together. There is a limited amount of dates and times available, so please reach out to the wedding coordinator to discuss your plans and the venue availability.
