Horta’s Restaurant in New Bedford Offers More Than Award-Winning Fish n’ Chips
Horta's may be famous for their fish and chips, but their signature Portuguese dishes are authentic, and to die for.
Located at the tail end of Route 18, right off of Cove Street (68 Cove Street) in New Bedford, is a quaint little mom-and-pop restaurant with big flavor.
Last year, I personally took a drive to Horta's Restaurant after hearing that the word on the street was that they were the best place to go for a fish and chips plate. I walked into a nautical themed restaurant that suited their seafood and local flavor, and was immediately and very nicely greeted the second I stepped foot inside.
I was on a mission to get fish and chips and yes, the rumor was true—delicious!
What I was unaware of was the fact that they have Portuguese food that's as authentic as your Vavo's. From cacoila to octopus to shrimp Mozambique, Horta's puts their own tasty flair to traditional Portuguese cuisine. Did I mention how amazing it tasted? Check out what The Michael Rock Show had for lunch:
