Less than a month from now, all the local restaurants will be booked solid with couples attempting to show each other how much they love one another.

But what about singles?

Now, of course, every year those that don't have a significant other will do one of two things: sulk and post on social media just how single they are, or have some type of Galentine's Day gathering with their mutually single friends.

This year I was going to be doing the same, spending the night in with a bottle of wine and some Netflix – until I went online and Googled when Single's Day is. I mean come on, there is a day for everything nowadays, right?

Well, single people, it looks like we have our special day. I can't believe I didn't know National Single Awareness Day is February 15, the day after the love holiday.

Why would they put our days so close? Wouldn't you want to put our day before Valentine's Day? Making people aware you are single may increase your chance of matching before the holiday. Or am I overthinking this?

Now I want to encourage restaurants to have some special deal for our special day, since all I see being promoted is couples' stuff. So who will be the first local spot to stand up and show some love to the singles on the SouthCoast?  Ha, that has a nice little ring to it, doesn't it? Single on the SouthCoast.
