‘Groceries for Guns’ Returns to Fall River
Once again, the "Groceries for Guns" campaign is returning to Fall River.
Gift cards for groceries are being offered as trade with the Fall River Police Department in honor of late Rev. Dr. Robert Lawrence. Gift cards will range between $50-$75 for any firearms that you return safely and no questions will be asked.
For the second year in a row, the program will aim to gather illegal guns off the streets and also guns that you might not want anymore. All are welcome in an effort to clean up the streets of Fall River.
The event will be held at Blessed Trinity Parish, located at 1340 Plymouth Ave in Fall River on Saturday, January 30, 2021.
Again, there is no judgment or questions, as the goal is to clean up illegal firearms from falling into the wrong hands. Perhaps you have had a loved one pass away and do not own a gun license; the Fall River Police Department will be happy to discard the gun for you.
Generous support from many local businesses has helped fuel this program to clean up the city. Guns for Groceries is designed to save lives one retracted gun at a time and has been the mission to do so for the past 26 years as lead by Rev. Lawrence.
Rev. Rob Nemkovich is the pastor at Blessed Trinity Parish in Fall River and has worked with the Fall River Police Department throughout the years as a host to the program at his church.
