Giancarlo Esposito has an acting career that spans five decades, so he will certainly have a lot to share when he visits University of Rhode Island on Monday, Dec. 4, at 8 p.m.

His name might not immediately ring a bell but the slew of characters he has played and television series he has been a part of is impressive.

Let's first start with his most well-known character in the award-winning and hugely popular AMC series Breaking Bad. He played Gus Fring, mild-mannered fried chicken franchise owner by day and frightening drug lord by night. He reprised the role in prequel Better Call Saul.

The five-time Emmy nominee also has appeared in Spike Lee's 1992 drama Malcolm X and Law & Order, among many others. He lent his voice to Netflix series Dear White People and the Winter Olympics in 2014 and 2018.

Now he's headed to the Ocean State to play himself on stage in an interview with URI's Keith Brown, teaching professor in the Harrington School of Communication and Media,

After the initial presentation in Edwards Hall on the Kingston campus, Esposito will answer audience questions. The discussion will focus on his career and the struggles he has faced on his journey.

Tickets are $10 for URI students, $15 for faculty and staff, and $25 for the general public.
