Have you ever heard Family Guy songs performed by an orchestra? That could all change this week in Providence.

The Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra will perform a free concert at Roger Williams Park in Providence on Wednesday night, July 31, 2024, and Seth MacFarlane-inspired music is on the setlist.

Of course, the show is not all about cartoons. This year's Summer Pops in the Park concert is titled "Our State: A RI Celebration."

Here's how MacFarlane fits in.

While music lovers gather on the grass surrounding the Temple of Music at Roger Williams Park, the iconic stage will be filled with the 66-piece Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra ready to play a selection of music from Rhode Island composers.

The setlist includes songs from Peter Boyer, Bill Conti, George M. Cohan -- names that may not be familiar to casual orchestra fans.

But many locals know the name Seth MacFarlane.

The former Rhode Island School of Design student was inspired by his time in the Ocean State when he created his beloved cartoon comedy series, Family Guy.
