NEW BEDFORD - New Bedford Police are responding to more reports of tire slashings in the near-North End.

Police say they filed fourteen additional reports Wednesday of cars that had one or more tires intentionally flattened mostly in the area of Myrtle and Penniman Streets, with several cars on Summer, Adams, and Highland Streets also targeted.

Earlier Wednesday, police responded to twelve reports of slashed tires in the same area.

The newly found slashing incidents bring the total number of affected vehicles to 26.

Police believe all of the incidents took place overnight Tuesday. The exact time the vehicles were damaged is unknown.
