Firefighter Charged With Making Fake 9-1-1 Calls
Fall River Police have charged a city firefighter with 15 counts of making false 9-1-1 calls.
The Herald News says 33-year-old Kyle Cusick was placed on administrative leave, pending an ongoing investigation by the Police Department's Major Crimes Unit.
Cusick is a three-year veteran of the Fire Department. Cusick's motivation for making the calls has not been revealed.
Fire Chief John Lynch says the investigation started to pick up steam after Police tied Cusick to three false alarms called-in during Christmas week.
Lynch says the department has been unable to schedule a disciplinary meeting with Cusick because they're not sure where he is.
Under State law, those convicted of making false fire calls can face fines up to $500 or up to a year in jail.
