Before I get into this, let me start by saying that I'm not against any lifestyle or form of any lifestyle. People should do as they please. Now, with that out of the way, schools that have father/daughter dances should do just that.

My daughters school has one tomorrow and I am glad they didn't change the concept of it.

Some schools across the country have banned them and the reason given was "gender discrimination"

To me, THAT is unfair to the fathers and daughters who make up the majority of the situations in any given school.

Apparently the situation in Rhode Island is that one single mother complained , so the school banned the father daughter dances all together.

With this logic, ONE person ruins it for a few hundred dads and daughters. Hardly fair in my book. I look forward to this day which is a special day for the both of us that we will remember for years. Why should that be taken away?
