Fall River’s Abbey Grill Closes Restaurant Doors
One of Fall River's staple dine-in restaurants has shut its doors.
According to the Herald News, Abbey Grill in Fall River is now closed--well, at least the Grille part. The venue is still open, but the owners decide to hang up their chef hats and only use the venue as an event hall. It is now called The Historic Abbey.
This past summer, owner Andrew Lombardi decided to change the name and business model. He told the paper,, "The restaurant business is tough. The venue business is a little easier.”
Lombardi saw the beauty in the 1875 church known for serving the city’s wealthiest families, with one of the members being Lizzie Borden.
The cloister offers a large open room with dark paneled walls, high ceilings, and a well-lit dining room complimentary of their large stain glass windows that are perfect for weddings, parties, and any event you can imagine.
