FALL RIVER (WBSM) — A fire on Fall River’s Rock Street caused significant damage to a multi-family house and displaced seven people Monday.

According to the Fall River Fire Department, crews received a 911 call at approximately 6:57 p.m. on August 14 for a fire in a bedroom of a multi-family house on 165 Rock Street.

Firefighters were then dispatched to the house, where they found a blaze on the second floor of the three-story house.

The department said crews were able to control the fire at 7:14 p.m. and fully extinguished it by 7:28 p.m.

No injuries were reported, but damage from smoke and fire made the second floor uninhabitable.

The first floor also suffered significant water damage, according to the Fall River Fire Department.

Four adults and three children were displaced and are receiving aid from the American Red Cross of Massachusetts.

The department said an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
