FALL RIVER (WBSM) — Fall River Police are continuing their investigation of a stabbing and an attempted robbery that sent a 62-year-old man to the hospital on Tuesday, February 20.

The stabbing happened in the 200 block of County Street at around 8 p.m. Police said the victim was sitting in his car when a man approached the vehicle asking for money and a ride.

During the conversation, the suspect allegedly lunged towards the victim through the passenger side of the window. The victim told police that he fought off the suspect and drove away.

The victim then flagged down an officer near Ruggles Park after noticing he was bleeding. According to police, the victim was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries to his hand and chest.
