UPDATE (1/14 at 5:45 a.m.) — The victim in the fatal stabbing has been identified as 39-year-old Joseph Reading of Fall River.

FALL RIVER — Fall River Police have identified the suspect wanted in connection with Saturday night’s fatal stabbing in the city.

Police have identified the suspect as 29-year-old Adam James Conners of Fall River.

On Saturday, January 12 at about 11:35 p.m., Fall River Police responded to the area of Church Street and Hall Street for a report of a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, responding officers quickly learned that the operator of the vehicle had multiple stab wounds. Investigators learned the victim was stabbed at an apartment on Hall Street.

Over the course of the investigation, police identified Conners as the suspect and a warrant was issued for his arrest on a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing substantial injury.

Police say Conners has a Fall River address but also has ties to Halifax, Massachusetts. They are asking for the public’s help in locating Conners.
