FALL RIVER — Fall River police say a body pulled from the Taunton River on Thursday evening appears to be a person who suffered from a medical issue.

According to Fall River police spokesman Sgt. Moses Pereira, officers responded to Atlantic Boulevard at around 6 p.m. Thursday for a reported body.

Pereira said initial reports indicated that there was a dead person in the water.

Officers arrived at the scene and were able to find the person, Pereira said.

"It appears to have been a medical issue," he stated.

 

The Bristol County District Attorney's Office has not yet publicly identified the person.
