Fall River Police are distancing themselves from a controversial video that is going viral.

The video features a confrontation between three men and a Fall River parking control officer on South Main Street. The video is littered with profanity, so please know that this video is not safe for work or to watch in front of children.

In the video, three men are facing off against a parking control officer in the street. The video begins with the men accusing the parking control officer of "not talking (expletive) now," insinuating that the parking officer had been aggressive with them prior to the cameras turning on.

The parking officer denied their accusations.

"You're bad mouthing me for doing my job," the officer said. "What? You want to get in my face? What are you doing?"

The video went viral online this week, causing the Fall River Police to issue a clarification yesterday. Many commenters to the video were mistakenly criticizing the police department for the actions of the parking control officer.

In a post on the Fall River Police official Facebook page, the department let people know that parking tickets are not issued by police officers.
"It has been brought to the attention of the City of Fall River Police Department that a video is circulating on Facebook of an interaction between a Parking Control Officer and several civilians," the post read. "Parking Control Officers are not City of Fall River Police Department employees, as a result this matter has been forwarded to the City of Fall River Traffic Department for investigation."
