A man being sought for a hit and run in the Dartmouth Mall on Tuesday afternoon has been arrested.

Detective Kyle Costa says that at approximately 1 p.m. police received a call about a shoplifting suspect who had fled Target in a 2010 Dodge Caliber.

Officers were able to locate the vehicle and attempted to stop it on Faunce Corner Rd.

The driver refused to stop and turned into the Dartmouth Mall parking lot where he struck a pedestrian, as well as several vehicles, before officers ended the pursuit.

Roughly an hour later the suspect, 29-year-old Justin Tunney-Lassiter of Fall River, was arrested in Westport following an incident there.

Costa says Tunney-Lassiter is facing numerous charges, including shoplifting and several motor vehicle offenses, in connection with the incident in Dartmouth.

Somerset Police also had a warrant out for his arrest in connection with the knifepoint robbery of Lil Audrey's Market on Dec. 5.

The person who was struck in the mall parking lot was evaluated at the scene, and refused further treatment.
