FALL RIVER (WBSM) — Authorities are investigating a homicide that occurred in Fall River Saturday afternoon.

According to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III, Fall River Police responded to a 911 call at about 4:30 p.m. on November 22 reporting that two men were fighting. The incident took place at Leonard’s Package Store, located at 1331 Pleasant Street.

Police arrived to find Taiquan Teixeira, 31, unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital and pronounced deceased a few hours later.

The D.A.’s Office did not say if there was a suspect in the case, which remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the D.A.’s Office and Fall River Police.
