FALL RIVER (WBSM) — A Fall River man was arrested Monday after police found an illegal handgun in his car during a vehicle stop.

Detectives assigned to the Vice, Gang and Intelligence Unit received information that Christopher Bridge, 19, was in possession of a firearm.

Following surveillance, police initiated a vehicle stop for Bridge's car. That's when police say they recovered a loaded 9mm Polymer 80 firearm.

Bridge was arrested and charged with carrying a firearm without a license to carry, carrying a loaded firearm without a license to carry, and possession of a large-capacity firearm.
