Fall River’s Boneheads Live Says the Building Is For Sale, Not the Restaurant
One of Fall River’s most popular restaurants has been advertised as being for sale, but a representative of Boneheads Live says that isn’t exactly the case.
A May 23 Facebook post from realtor David Durot of Century 21 Topsail in Portsmouth, Rhode Island featured a photo of the restaurant and the following description:
“Great turnkey restaurant on Water Street in Fall River coming up for sale. The restaurant is coming to the market very soon. The building has everything needed to be a top notch restaurant with everything in place. Great location too, on Water Street in Fall River. The building also has business leases that bring in monthly rents apart from the restaurant.”
When reached via Facebook, a representative from Boneheads Live stated that the realtor’s Facebook post as a “turnkey restaurant” for sale wasn’t exactly accurate and that Boneheads, as a business, was not for sale.
“The restaurant isn’t for sale. The building is,” they wrote. “We are unsure why the restaurant is being advertised.”
When asked if there are plans for Boneheads to reopen, perhaps at a different location, the representative declined to provide any additional details.
Boneheads Live, located at 36 Water Street, has been closed since January. The restaurant’s Facebook page has been quiet since March 14, when a lengthy post addressed the closing and the plan going forward.
“We hear you. I promise we do,” the post began. “Being inactive for so long at both West Warwick and Fall River isn't how we planned any of this. While we'd love to be able to update you with a (grand) reopening announcement – we are still working tirelessly to get things 'back to normal.’ From analyzing our menu, speaking with suppliers who can work with us on pricing and that are still feeling the effects of inflation and shortages in both workforce and supply, to adding to our hardworking team with a strong staff.”
“It's not easy. It's not a fast process. We want to be open as much as you want us to be open,” the post continued.
The West Warwick Boneheads location closed in July of 2021, citing supply chain issues and problems with acquiring chicken wings. That location’s most recent Facebook post, in August of 2021, stated that although wings were now something the restaurant was able to get, they couldn’t get them at a decent price, and that along with other factors such as staffing would keep them from reopening anytime soon.
The "Hell's Bells" wings at Boneheads Live were recently named the hottest around in our SouthCoast Hot Wing Project.
