Fairhaven's only contested race during Monday's election saw newcomer Cameron Durant defeat former BPW member and selectman Geoffery Haworth for the open Board of Public Works seat.

Since incumbent Jarrod Lussier had withdrawn his name from the race, the two candidates were both write-in's on the ballot.

Fairhaven's other unopposed races saw Charlie Murphy re-elected to his spot on the Board of Selectmen; Incumbent Cathy Melanson will be joined by newcomer Nicholas Carigg onto the Planning Board; Pamela Kuechler and Brian Monroe were re-elected to the School Committee; John Rogers was re-elected as Commissioner of Trust Funds; Jay Simmons was re-elected to the Housing Authority.

The town election only saw about 550 total votes cast Monday night, at a 4.95% voter turnout.
