Elf is Coming to Fenway Park For a Magical Summer Movie Night

It's one of the country's most iconic baseball stadiums, but this summer Fenway Park has been a lot more than just the home of the Red Sox.

From big name concerts to the return of competitive boxing, w wide range of events have been happening all summer at Fenway Park.

Now the baseball stadium will become an outdoor movie theater at the end of the month.

Growing up, my father always referred to Fenway Park as 'the shrine.' He is a long-time, die hard Red Sox fan who thinks Ted Williams was the greatest to ever play the game and Fenway is the best ball park for watching that game.

So although I'm sure for him the idea of watching a movie inside Fenway Park is some sort of sacrilege, for me it's the perfect reason to bring my young kids to Boston for the night.

If you really crunch the numbers, baseball isn't exactly 'America's pastime' anymore. Attendance for football games more than doubles that of baseball games, so ballparks have to find other ways of filling up.

New Ways to Experience Fenway Park

Fenway Park has been fantastic at this. People love watching concerts at Fenway throughout the summer, the park is hosting its annual golf experience this August and on Thursday July 31 families can even watch a movie on the center field video board.

This summer movie night brings Christmas to July with a viewing of the hit film, Elf.

Movie Night at Fenway Park will be presented by Alamo Drafthouse and they have some fun planned for everyone.

What to Expect on Movie Night

Gates open at 6:15p.m. with the movie beginning at 7:30p.m., so there will be plenty of time for photo ops set up at the Gate A entrance as well photos with the Red Sox World Series trophies on the warning track before the film.
