Some bad news today for seafood lovers in Buzzards Bay.

Eastwind Seafood announced today that it was closing its doors for good. Located immediately behind the Way Ho Chinese Restaurant in Buzzards Bay, the seafood restaurant has been in business for more than 15 years.

Both the interior and exterior of the restaurant had undergone renovations in the past year. A brand new bar area was unveiled this summer, along with additional outdoor seating.

The restaurant also had revamped its menu a bit before the summer rush began several months back.

"We'll get a party of eight or 10 in the restaurant, and there is always someone who doesn't care for seafood," owner Craig Moore said back in April. "We're now happy to be able to offer those people some land specialties like steak tips, chicken parmigiana, and chicken and broccoli alfredo."

Moore wrote on the restaurant's Facebook page that the decision was not made lightly.

"Due to some very unfortunate circumstances within the organization, we felt that this was the right course of action for our business," Moore wrote. "We want to thank those employees past and present that worked and stood by our vision and dedicated themselves to Eastwind Seafoods."

He also thanked all of the customers that dined at the restaurant over the years.
