Fairhaven Police recently posted a notice on their Facebook page warning residents about a woman who may be targeting elderly residents.

Now Dartmouth Police are saying a similar incident may have occurred in their town.

As WBSM News previously reported Fairhaven Police received calls about a woman, with red hair and a chin piercing, who has been going door to door asking elderly residents if they lived alone and making inquiries about their medications.

The woman claimed to work for Community Nurse and Hospice Care, and even wore a shirt with their name on it, but she does not work for them.

Dartmouth Police say a similar incident occurred in their town around 11 a.m. Monday.

In this case the woman was driving a dark colored SUV, which may be a Nissan.

Police say if you encounter this woman, you shouldn't engage her.

However, they do ask that you get down a license number or take a photo if possible.

Residents with exterior cameras on their homes are also being asked to check their footage to see if they captured an image of the woman.

New Bedford Police also repeated the warning and asked anyone who encounters the woman to contact local police but didn't report any incidents in the city.
