Does Anyone Know What’s Up with These Signs?

Someone tagged us in a photo of these signs and now we're equally curious about them. What's the deal?

According to the post, there are a few different versions posted around the Southcoast. Someone commented that it looks like there are two broken hearts and two whole hearts. Another theory was that they were posted at local panhandling hotspots but I'm not convinced there's a connection.
