If you know anyone who has been to Disney recently, then you have probably heard about the delicious Dole Whips being served in the parks.

The popular pineapple-flavored treat has become one of the most sought-after desserts at Disney's parks and resorts around the world. Not to mention some of the most posted pictures from those who eat them.

Now another SouthCoast ice cream shop is going to be serving Dole Whips much closer to home.

What Is a Dole Whip?

If you somehow missed the Dole Whip trend, then you might want to give them a try this summer.

Essentially a dairy-free, soft serve with tropical flavors, the pineapple Dole Whip is definitely the most popular, though flavors also include strawberry, raspberry, orange, mango, lemon, lime, cherry and watermelon.

It's also low fat, gluten-free and vegan, making it a fantastic frozen treat no matter what your diet restrictions.

Where Can You Get Dole Whips on the SouthCoast?

For several summers, Dairy Maid in New Bedford and its satellite shop at Cisco Brewers were pretty much the places to get a Dole Whip.

Now another SouthCoast ice cream shop will be debuting Dole Whips when it opens for the 2025 season.

Ice Cream Cottage on Ferry Street in Fairhaven will offer the pineapple-based soft serve when it opens for its third season.

You can also head further down Interstate 195 to Sundaes on Taunton Ave in Seekonk for Dole Whips, and fingers crossed even more local shops start to add them to the menu as well.
