Fort Taber is opening its heart to all kite flying lovers on Saturday, July 27th from 10am-6pm.

Summer Winds is a free family event inviting both first-time flyers and the greatest stunt kite flyers from the Southcoast area to New Bedford's well-known Fort Taber for a day of flying kites by the water.

Special guests in attendance include; ConnectiKITERS, Sky Dog Kites, Wind Wolves, and friends from New Bedford's North End community presenting traditional Guatemalan kites. This event is multicultural and allows for kids and adults alike to celebrate their art that is displayed upon their kites.

Demonstrations will be going on all day for visitors who are curious about the whole kite-flying business. Complimentary arts & crafts provided by artMOBILE for the kids and young at heart. Pack your picnic blanket, some refreshing lunch, and most importantly your kite collection for this incredible day of thrill & excitement.

Design Art Technology Massachusetts is hosting a handful of events to celebrate New Bedford’s emerging leadership in wind energy. Start planning your summer and check out their website to find your ideal night out.
