A Dartmouth veteran is feeling thankful this holiday season after having Home Depot provide much need improvements to his home.

According to DartmouthVillageSoup.com, Raul Henriques was drafted into the Army at the age of 23, distributing medicine to military clinics in New Jersey and Texas during the Vietnam War.

Now 77-years-old, his Dartmouth home had fallen into disrepair and he was in much need of a new roof.

That's where the Home Depot 'Celebration of Service' campaign stepped in and amazing local volunteers spent eight hours stripping shingles, replacing rotted planks and even installing new gutters for Henriques.

And it was all free thanks to donations from Home Depot and other local businesses.

The results clearly made Henriques very happy and quite emotional.
