Brick-and-mortar businesses have certainly taken a hit in recent years, and the COVID-19 pandemic only put fuel on the fire of our ever-growing urge to do our shopping online. The Dartmouth Mall has lost stores like Sears, Forever 21 and Justice over the past few years, and the area around the mall continues to see businesses closing down as well, with the Office Max on State Road as just the latest victim.

But the mall announced this week that it is ready to welcome a new store later this year that will offer an array of women's clothing, shoes and accessories. Windsor will be taking over a space in the center court area inside the Dartmouth Mall, with a sneak peek of their offerings coming this fall.

Currently, the closest Windsor locations are at Providence Place and the Warwick Mall in Rhode Island and at Braintree South Shore Plaza and the Natick Mall in Massachusetts. If you're not up for traveling beyond the SouthCoast to visit the store, you can shop Windsor and and see what to expect when the new location opens in Dartmouth on the company's website.

OfficeMax in Dartmouth will close its doors for good on May 15, and has been having a big blowout sale for nearly two months, after the store's parent company, Office Depot, announced that the location would be closing this spring.

As for a reason for the location's closure, a spokesperson with Office Depot told Dartmouth Week in March that the company "continues to optimize its retail footprint."
