We all know Dartmouth’s color is green. From the football uniforms to the long-debated green Indian, Dartmouth has proudly worn green for generations.

This month, Dartmouth became even greener as the Police Department introduced its latest cruiser, a 2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV outfitted with the Police Pursuit Vehicle (PPV) package.

Dartmouth Unveils Its First All-Electric Police Cruiser

The Dartmouth Police Department debuted the vehicle at the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association Trade Show on April 9 in Marlborough. For the past five years, Dartmouth has been working to become more environmentally conscious, and this new electric cruiser is the latest step in that journey.

The 2025 Chevy Blazer EV is currently the only electric vehicle available with a PPV package, built specifically for police use. It represents the department’s goals of modernizing its fleet and reducing its environmental impact.

Why the Electric Chevy Blazer is a Game Changer for Police Fleets

The Blazer offers reduced emissions, quieter operation, and lower operational costs, all while maintaining top-tier safety and law enforcement technology. It meets the high standards of both officer safety and public protection, without compromising performance.

Dartmouth’s Commitment to Sustainability Goes Beyond Police Cruisers

This initiative supports Dartmouth’s designation as a Green Community by the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources. Since 2020, the Dartmouth Police Department has integrated hybrid vehicles into its fleet, with the majority of cruisers now running on hybrid systems.

Chief of Police Brian Levesque emphasized the department’s ongoing commitment to both the community and the environment. The new electric cruiser will be immediately deployed, and officers using it will provide field feedback on its performance.
