Dartmouth Daycare Raising Money For New Playground
One Dartmouth daycare is hoping to build a new playground and can use your help.
It Takes A Village LLC on Slocum Road in Dartmouth (right across from Bishop Stang High School) is hosting its second annual vendor fair and is searching for local vendors to join in on the fun. The goal: raise enough money to build a playground for its students aged infant to six years old.
On Sunday August 27th, from 12-4 PM, you can join in on the fun or flaunt your business at 221 Brock Avenue in New Bedford at the S.E.Y.A.A. baseball field.
Owner Kaitlin Stephenson took over the 20-year-old business two years ago and is busily planning and putting together her second fundraising event.
"Last year was Halloween themed with a bunch of fun stuff and a bounce house to help get supplies for the school year," Stephenson explained, "This year, all the funds will be going towards a much-needed playground for the kids."
When Stephenson first took over It Takes A Village, there was nothing for the kids outside. There are just two large squares of open grass and ripped turf as well as a sandbox that's stuck shut. She plans to tear it down and build three new fenced-in areas for each age group with toys.
"It's all for the kids this time around," Stephenson concluded, "We opted to put on the fair in the summer so we can be outside (weather permitting), with hopes to support local businesses as well by helping them get the word out."
This is a public event for all ages with food trucks, a LIVE DJ, raffle prizes games, and much more. If you're a business and looking to be a part of the vendor fair, you can contact It Takes A Village by emailing ittakesavillagellc@gmail.com or calling 774-510-7111 and asking for Jayleen Manchester or Kaitlin Stephenson.
