An elaborate Christmas display on Anthony St. in Fall River was pillaged on Monday night.

Home owner Paul Grant told the Herald that he has been putting up his Christmas display for 18 years, but this year thieves are trying to ruin the tradition.

The decorations include inflatable Santa Clauses, elves, animals, dinosaurs, presents and trains...and they were all accompanied by "dancing" Christmas lights. Grant's display was once plugged into a musical relay box that made the lights flash to whatever music was being played for the neighborhood to see and hear.

But on Monday night, that musical box was gone when Grant went out to plug it in.

He says he believes it was stolen off his property, but according to the newspaper he did not report the incident to police.

Grant did say,

It’s a shame. This is like the Grinch stealing Christmas,”

He also added that he didn't report the theft, because he didn't know what good it would do.
