Centerville Family’s Holiday Display Destroyed [VIDEO]
These are such great people and I'm not happy that some low-life destroyed their holiday decorations! Really? This is what society has come down to? The past eight years, this friendly family has put up a fantastic holiday display on its front lawn, wowing neighbors with inflatable characters, a Christmas train and even a light show with music.
According the Cape Cod Times, when Richard Thompson flipped the switch to power up his extravaganza on Sunday morning, nothing happened. Some Grinch had slashed the blow-up Santa, reindeer and sock monkey as well as three blow-up dogs representing the family's three yellow Labrador retrievers. The wires connecting the lights were cut and the display effectively destroyed.
Despite their three rambunctious guard dogs, they didn't hear anything unusual the night the display was vandalized. So, they didn't bother reporting it to the police because they had little hope anyone had seen anything. It takes three weeks to set up the display and is a favorite with neighbors and passers-by who stop to look with their children at the busy intersection of Shootflying Hill Road and Great Marsh Road in Barnstable. Anyone who has any information, please call Barnstable Police.
