Celebrate Local Yarn Shop Day on the SouthCoast

Saturday April 27 is Local Yarn Shop Day and here's how to celebrate it on the SouthCoast.

Of course you can buy yarn at Joann's and Michaels, but since Saturday is local yarn shop day, these shops may be where you want to head instead.

1. Sisters of the Wool in Westport

Right in the Westport Village Commons you'll find this lovely little yarn shop with lots of great yarns, needles and accessories. You can even start knitting at this shop, they have group classes Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays plus private lessons that you can schedule.

2. K G Krafts in Fall River

Located on New Boston Rd in the strip of Village Shops, K G Krafts has something for every crafter. From jewelry to scrapbooking, seems you'll find something in this store. and knitters and crocheters can join them for local yarn store day too.Last year they celebrating with big savings and snacks all day, hopefully this year is more of the same.

3. Knitting Needles in Newport

It's Aquidneck Island's only local yarn shop and they are celebrating the day with 20% off all yarns and a raffle for all customers. You can find them on Thames St in the heart of Newport and they open at 11 a.m.
