Cable companies should be worried.  CBS could start a shift in how we watch TV.

CBS has announced that it would offer an online streaming service for $5.99 a month where viewers can watch their live programming as well as current and past shows on their network as they please.

The "CBS All-Access" service will cause a major shift in television, as it's the first streaming service of its kind. Viewers aren't required to pay for traditional cable to be eligible for this web service. This decision by CBS comes right on the heel of HBO's exclusive internet offering that wouldn't require a traditional television subscription, as well. This marks the beginning of a new age of television, as it crosses over to web.

The only exception CBS made in the shows and programs that will be available to watch online are all NFL games.
