Can't get enough cat videos? You are definitely not alone because it turns out there is an entire local festival dedicated to them.

There is clearly an event for everything these days, including cat videos.

Though I'm sure it's not the only festival of its kind in the country, CatVideoFest 2020 is probably the closest of its kind to the SouthCoast and it's just a few weeks away.

The event is exactly what it sounds like, a film festival of cat videos.

On Saturday February 15th and Sunday February 16th at 2 p.m. each day the Jane Pickens Theater and Event Center on Touro St in Newport in hosting what the event's planners call,

the latest and best cat videos culled from countless hours of unique submissions and sourced animations, music videos, and, of course, classic internet powerhouses.

And by going you are also raising money for the cats you love so much.

CatVideoFest raises funds for local cat charities and animal shelters and this year a portion of the proceeds are going to The Potter League for Animals in Middletown.

Not being a cat person myself, I'm not sure this would be the event for me.

But I certainly know plenty of cat lovers who would seriously enjoy an afternoon of cat videos on a big screen. I mean they aren't internet sensations for nothing.

Tickets for CatVideoFest 2020 are $12 per person and can be purchased right on the theater's website.
