Carver’s King Richard’s Faire Looking for New Villagers for 2022 Season
Hear ye, hear ye, King Richard is requesting your presence for the 2022 season.
King Richard’s Faire will host open auditions April 9 and 10 in Providence to expand their village for the New England Renaissance Festival.
Since the ‘80s, King Richard’s Faire has brought the 16th century back to life on 80 acres of woods in Carver. This year ushers in their 41st season, and it is sure to attract thousands of villagers looking to escape reality and immerse themselves in a completely different time period.
“Hundreds of talented performers entertain our patrons continuously throughout the day when visiting any one of our eight vibrant stages,” said the website. “The King’s handsome knights battle on horseback ... wacky wenches will leave you in stitches ... and frolicking faeries can be seen dancing through the forest.”
Being a guest is always an experience but being a part of the “village” offers a completely different one.
Date and Time of Auditions
April 9 and 10, 12 to 5 p.m.
Location
AS 220 at 95 Empire St., Providence, R.I.
How to Prepare
Prepare one uptempo song and one ballad to perform a cappella and prepare one monologue.
“Neither needs to be Renaissance-themed and all talents are welcome,” said the official announcement.
What to Bring
Bring a current photo and resume

Villager cast members receive a four-week theater training program and eight weeks of performance experience, so no need to worry about trying this out for the first time.
Tens of thousands of New Englanders flock to Carver every year to travel back in time, but only a fraction of people can say they got a chance to live out their fantasy of becoming a 16th-century villager.
Test your acting skills in April, and get ready for the 2022 season, Sept. 3 to Oct. 23.
