Edaville Unveils New Name, Pricing and Holiday Experience
CARVER (WBSM) — The next incarnation of Edaville Railroad has been made official, as the new ownership has announced its new name and pricing structure for this year’s Festival of Lights celebration.
When Ellis D. Atwood first opened up his narrow-gauge railroad for rides through his cranberry bogs in 1947, he gave his new park the name Edaville Railroad, with the “E-D-A” coming from his initials. In later years, it became known as Edaville U.S.A. and most recently Edaville Family Theme Park, until the property and the park were sold to Lancelot Entertainment Boston, LLC, the new owners of King Richard’s Faire, in 2024.

Edaville’s New Ownership and Rebranding
According to its website, the park has been renamed the Edaville Entertainment Venue, as it now houses the Edaville train-themed events as well as King Richard’s Faire. With the park’s amusement rides auctioned off last spring, the “Family Theme Park” moniker no longer makes sense, and on November 1, the name of its Facebook page was changed to “Edaville Historic Train & Holiday Festival of Lights.”

What to Expect From the New Edaville Experience
The new Edaville experience will include an ice skating rink, horse-drawn carriage rides, entertainment possibilities on the park’s 11 stages, and new food and beverage offerings such as the Jingle Bar. The holiday light show will also be synchronized to music, and trains will now feature a First Class cabin.

The Holiday Festival of Lights will run from November 28 to December 28 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Upgraded Trains and Attractions Announced
When King Richard’s Faire opened in its new location back in August, WBSM spoke with Aimée Shapiro Sedley, Producer and General Manager for King Richard’s Faire and Edaville, and she gave us a preview of what to expect.
“We’ve done a wonderful amount of upgrading with (the trains). We have a First Class cabin now, so that if you want to be First Class, you can do that,” she said. “We’ll have the skating rink, so people can do that. We’ll have more merchants, our merry merchants, so all of this will transform from Renaissance into holiday time with more holiday items to be sold, and again, more food and beverage, so it’ll be great.”

Back in August, Ryan Roy, Vice President of Production for King Richard’s Faire and Edaville, confirmed to WBSM that the trains would return under the guidance of Brian Fanslau of Maine Locomotive and Machine Works. Fanslau had served as Operations Manager of Edaville since 2022 until the park’s purchase last year.
