The folks behind Carver’s Edaville Family Theme Park are probably just getting caught up on sleep after putting on the Festival of Lights over the holidays for the park’s 75th season, and now they’re getting ready to do it all over again for a new summer event.

Edaville posted some photos on Facebook Tuesday of the preparations underway for Christmas in July.

“The Edaville crew is getting ready for Christmas in July. Light displays are getting a face-lift with new paint and lights. They will be brighter than ever!” Edaville posted along with the photos.

In addition to everything the park already has on display, we found its treasure trove of vintage decorations in case they're looking to add any blasts from the past.

We reached out to Edaville’s Hannah Miller to find out exactly what to expect for the Christmas in July event.

“It’s going to be basically what happened at Christmas, only warmer,” she said. “Thirteen vintage amusement rides, Christmas market, steam train and lots of lights.”

Miller is part of the new operations team that took over the park ahead of last year’s holiday season for the park’s 75th year, and also put on the park’s 75th anniversary celebration in April 2022.

The team, which includes Managing Partner Shervin Hawley and Operations Partner Brian Fanslau, is tasked with continuing Edaville into the future. They began by making changes such as a new pricing model for 2022.

Meanwhile, owner Jon Delli Priscoli, who had put the park up for sale in early 2022 before taking it off the market later that year, looks for ways to keep the property viable year-round, including his recently discussed plan to build housing on the Edaville land with some 40B affordable units as part of the plan.

Delli Priscoli also said that the park’s Thomas Land attraction won’t reopen, and that the “concept really hasn’t worked.”

Tickets for Christmas in July will go on sale in April. The park is also looking for vendors for the Christmas market, and anyone interested should email markets@edaville.com.
