A woman who went into early labor had her baby in a police station parking lot Sunday night.

The Cape Cod Times reports that 38-year-old Mary Walker went into labor unexpectedly Sunday night at her Harwich Port home and tried to get to the hospital.

Walker and her 15-year-old daughter Michaela were on their way to Cape Cod Hospital, but things developed quickly and Michaela had to call 9-1-1.

Police told Mary to head to the Dennis police station, where two officers were standing by.

Paramedics arrived shortly after that and mother and baby were taken to the hospital. All are said to be doing well.
