Cape Cod foodies know all too well that when it comes to seafood and classic eats, the area is brimming with choices.

But for onion ring lovers, one spot stands out above the rest. The Flying Bridge Restaurant in Falmouth has been hailed as the go-to destination for Cape Cod’s best onion rings, and it’s thanks to an unexpected shoutout from Barstool Sports CEO Dave Portnoy’s recent visit to nearby Paul’s Pizza and Seafood.

On October 6, Portnoy, known for his popular One Bite Pizza Reviews, dropped by Paul’s Pizza and Seafood in Falmouth, where he awarded their pizza a respectable 7.7 on his review scale.

But before he wrapped up, a craving hit him for something crispy and golden—not pizza this time, but onion rings. He asked the crowd around him where he could find the Cape’s best, and without hesitation, the answer came: Flying Bridge Restaurant.

The enthusiastic recommendation has spotlighted Flying Bridge’s onion rings as a local favorite, known for their perfect balance of crunch and flavor. Positioned right on the water, this Falmouth staple serves up seafood classics with a view, and their onion rings have earned a reputation of their own.

When I called over to Flying Bridge, I asked the host what makes their onion rings so irresistible. He replied, “They’re thick and double-battered, and one serving could feed an army,” referring to the generous size of the basket. Even Clancy's Restaurant down in Denis Port recognizes the "real deal":

In other words, if other restaurants are chiming in on these onion masterpieces, it's got to be good- right?

Finally, Portnoy released the video review a month later, on November 6 at 6:00 PM, giving Flying Bridge Restaurant a bit of unexpected fame. If you’re looking to taste a snack with some true local fanfare, a stop at Flying Bridge is a must—especially if you’re looking for what some call the best onion rings on Cape Cod.

FYI- It's only a 47 minute ride from New Bedford, and now I crave onion rings.
