MassLive.com reports in an article yesterday morning about the shark spotted off of Race Point Beach in Provincetown around 10:30 Monday morning. A lifeguard spotted the shark from the beach. It's peak season for sharks to be closer to shore and extra close attention should be paid to the waters from late July to early August because that is when the waters are prime temperature for sharks. A great white shark was also tagged in Chatham that same day. Sharks aren't likely to attack humans because seals are what they are on the hunt for. Always be aware of your surroundings and exit the water as calm as possible.
