It's not every day you get to chow down on homemade Italian food at 6:30 in the morning, but that's exactly what happened today.

Fun 107's "Restaurant Week" has returned for the fall season with a whole new lineup; one in particular being the new Cafe' Italia Ristorante that emerged onto the downtown New Bedford lineup earlier this year.

After making the move from Rockdale Avenue in the South End, owner Nick – who is as Italian as can be, born and raised in Rome – has settled down at 555 Pleasant Street.

With ingredients that arrive fresh from Italy and years of experience in the kitchen, Café Italia has made a name for itself when it comes to authenticity. Trust me when I say you will taste the difference in every bite of home-prepped pasta.

From the chicken parmesan to the fettucine alfredo and finally the gameretti fra diavolo (sautéed shrimp and spices in a marinara sauce served with linguine), it's safe to say that The Rock & Fox Show were a bit spoiled this morning; we ate like kings and queens. Every bite tasted better than the previous and before we knew it, we were packed to the brim.

The atmosphere the moment you walk in was exquisitely comfortable with a splash of elegance and romance. In other words, if you're looking for the perfect place to bring someone special, this is most certainly the place to impress your date.

Here's where it get's better: instead of a one-day sale that bottoms out at only a 100 gift cards for sale, we're extending the half-price deal until the end of the week with an infinite amount of gift cards for sale (limited to two per person).

No need to worry about missing out on this sweet deal, you have plenty of time.

Take my advice, get yourself one of these gift cards and indulge in the robust menu that is the epitome of how Italian cuisine should be. Pair your plate with a bold or refreshing glass of wine, treat yourself to some decadent desserts or polish off your lunch or dinner with a freshly ground cup of espresso. Whichever choice you decide to make,  "That's amore!"

Bon appetit.
