We told you back in June that this new Cape taproom was coming and now it is officially open for business.

A gorgeous fall afternoon enjoying a Buzzards Bay brew while overlooking the Cape Cod Canal recreational area and the Canal itself just beyond is now a reality.

Thursday marked the first day the Buzzards Bay Brewery taproom opened its doors and starting pouring pints.

It has been months in the making with everything from permitting and licensing to sewage and water to be worked out all summer long.

But now the fall season is here, the fall beers are being brewed and all that tastiness is being served at the 85 Main St location in Bourne.

The local brewery seems to have a sweet spot in Bourne, especially in you enjoy hitting up the bike path.

And with the tourist season coming to a close on the Cape, it'll be a great time to check it out before it becomes crazy crowded.

The atmosphere is described as "relaxed"  with lots of windows and open space for pool tables and other games making it a great spot to end a day on the Cape.

Just don't expect to see full on brewing on sight in the tap room. Buzzards Bay beers will still be brewed in their Westport farm location.

But enjoying them can now happen at locations across the SouthCoast.

And with another sunny fall weekend lined up, you might just have made your plans for Saturday.

The brewery is open Thursday - Saturday from 1 p.m. - 8 p.m.
