A sand sculpture outside Salty's Seafood Restaurant in West Yarmouth has got some residents up-in-arms.

41 sand sculptures have been created around the Cape as part of the Yarmouth Summer Celebration, but residents have been complaining about one in particular.

The Cape Cod Times posted a photo of the sculpture on Twitter, but when Yarmouth police shared the same photo Facebook, they ended up taking it down after receiving complaints about the artwork being offensive.

The owner of Salty's, Raymond Roy, told the Times that he doesn't understand all the fuss, adding that mermaid isn't nude and shouldn't be censored.
