Siblings Marcus and Legacy hope to be adopted together. They have a strong bond and seek each other out for comfort and companionship.
Marcus, 10, is friendly and happy. He is good at forming bonds with others and is working on his waiting and sharing skills at school and at home. He enjoys interacting with preferred staff and family members. He attends school regularly. He loves venturing out in the community, going for nature walks, playing with sensory items and collecting Hot Wheels cars. He plays with peers but gravitates toward his brother or playing alone.
Legacy, 11, is friendly and happy like his brother. He forms bonds with caregivers and enjoys interacting with others. Legacy enjoys school, dance, music, arts and crafts, yoga and being out in the community. In general, Legacy benefits from verbal and visual cues, structured activities, clear and concise directions, and consistent daily schedules.

The ideal family for Marcus and Legacy will provide a safe and loving home. The family will be patient and assist both boys with meeting their developmental milestones. Families in and out of state may inquire about the boys to receive additional information on their needs. The brothers will both thrive with structure and support.

Who Can Adopt?

If you’re at least 18, have a stable source of income and have room in your heart, you may be a perfect match to adopt a waiting child. Adoptive parents can be single, married or partnered; experienced or not; renters or homeowners; LGBTQ+ singles and couples. As an adoptive parent, you won’t have to pay any fees. Adoption from foster care is completely free in Massachusetts.

Adopting a child from foster care includes training, interviews and home visits to determine if adoption is right for you. These steps will help match you with a child or sibling group that will be a good fit.

To learn more about adoption from foster care, call the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) at (617) 964-6273 or visit www.mareinc.org. Start the process today and give a waiting child a permanent place to call home.
