Who Is Shane Dougherty?

“I have always wanted to be in entertainment,” said Dougherty.

Growing up in Upton, the 27-year-old got his first taste of entertainment inside the mma cage. On the local scene, he became known for his explosive fighting and his infectious personality.

He played to the crowd, and the crowd ate it up.

Dougherty admits that his favorite part of fighting was entertaining the crowd, so his goals always had stardom in mind.

“I was trying to get on shows while I was fighting and I’ve always loved the idea of doing more than just fighting,” he said. “I always wanted to do something involving TV.”

These days, Dougherty is the DJ for Boston’s hottest nightclubs, living out his dreams of entertaining the masses.

And now, he’s checking off another bucket list item: being a contestant on a reality show.

Got to Get Out Coming to Hulu

Got to Get Out follows contestants living together in a mansion for ten days while they compete in physical and mental challenges.

Hosted by Simu Liu, 20 strangers will be locked in the mansion. They will receive clues to help them escape and steal a prize climbing to $1 million.

It’s every contestant for themselves.

“Half the players are reality royalty,” said Liu in the official trailer. “And the other half are reality rookies.”

That’s where Dougherty comes in.

“For me, at my core, I’m a real competitor,” he said. “When you have $1 million on the line, this is life changing money. It’s going to be wildly entertaining and suspenseful.”

Got to Get Out premieres on Friday, April 11th on Hulu.
