Partial Solar Eclipse Visible Over Boston This Weekend
Boston and a good part of the SouthCoast will be able to witness a rare partial solar eclipse this weekend.
Last year, the SouthCoast experienced a solar eclipse that had everyone ducking out of work and school to catch a glimpse. However, he last time Massachusetts was in the path of totality, meaning seeing a full eclipse, was in 1959.
They are saying the next time our state will be in the path of totality to view a full eclipse won't be until the year 2079.

So if you are eager to try and see any kind of eclipse, you will have to wake up a little early on a Saturday and head a little north to get the best view, but that doesn't mean we won't be able to view it here on the SouthCoast.
The partial eclipse will best be visible Saturday, March 29 between 6:31 a.m. and end at 7:06 a.m. in our area.
Here is the real challenge: the weather forecast is calling for mostly cloudy skies and rain Saturday morning. Fingers crossed that Mother Nature gives us a break in the clouds to catch this phenomenon.
If you are like me and you are more interested in a total eclipse, we are suppose to be getting one March 3, 2026.
Tell me why the song "Total Eclipse of the Heart" by Bonnie Tyler is now stuck in my head even though it has nothing to do with an actual eclipse. Admit it, the song started playing silently in your head as you read this article.
If you do plan to try and catch this eclipse please be responsible and wear protective eyewear or use an eclipse viewer.
