For some reason, I have always thought of the Boston Calling weekend as our very own Woodstock.

The acts never disappoint and this year will be no different. The festival always leans a little towards rock and roll in its selection of artists. This past week, it announced two headliners that are legendary.

In case you haven't heard, the headliners for this year's Boston Calling are Foo Fighters and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The show will take place during the long Memorial Day weekend, three days loaded with acts. It looks like the festival will be announcing 60-plus more artists that will perform throughout the weekend. The additional acts will be revealed in January.

I'm thinking with those two bands headlining, we are in for some amazing supporting acts for the weekend.

Now if you want to participate in this long weekend of amazing music right in our backyard, tickets are on sale. When I first looked, I was a little sticker shocked. But think about it – if you want some epic plans for your Memorial Day weekend, a three-day ticket to Boston Calling is actually pretty inexpensive. What I found interesting is that they make it affordable for everyone to attend. They clearly know their audience. You can actually set up a payment plan to pay for your tickets and pay for them over time.

The show is taking place at the usual spot, the Harvard Athletic Complex, May 22-24.

I'm going to hold on purchases my tickets only because I want to know who else is going to be performing. However, it's super tempting to get tickets now because those two headliners are pretty awesome!
